Founded in 2015, Guangzhou based designer brand "Citizen of No Place", CONP, makes its VERSEAS debut this season. The brand builds for a wearer with no fixed home, someone who belongs to movement rather than to any one border. Meridian Zero is its first collection at VERSEAS, activewear built around a single idea: the line on a map that claims no country, and the point where a new measurement begins.
A meridian runs pole to pole and answers to nobody. Zero is where the counting restarts. Put together, the name reads as a route rather than a place, a modern line drawn straight across old ground. That tension runs through the collection itself, ancient symbols rendered in reflective coatings and technical fibres, the plateau and the pixel sitting in the same drop. What follows are four pieces that show the idea at work.
The Glacier Longsleeve opens on the collection's coldest tone. Cut oversized in soft, draped Lenzing lyocell, it fades through a pixelated tie-dye that reads like static caught on ice, a widened round neckline keeping the shape loose across the shoulder.
The detail sits close to the skin. Reflective coating is laid directly onto the pattern, catching light the way frost sometimes does, with reflective dots repeated across the back. A horizontal slit at the wrist leaves just enough open to check a watch without losing the sleeve, thumb-hole cuffs pull the length down over the hand, and a stepped, side-slit hem lets the body move without the fabric fighting it.
In Glacier, lightweight and translucent in 100% lyocell, it is the most see-through piece in Meridian Zero and the one that reads most clearly as weather.
Where the longsleeve reads as terrain, the Bloom Core Tee reads as signal. It holds the collection's duality on a single garment: a pixel-art graphic sits across a breathable waffle-eyelet knit, reflective coating picking out alternate shapes so the print only fully resolves under a passing light, ancient marking and screen logic worked into the same surface.
Underneath the graphic it is built to be trained in. A stretchy, quick-dry polyester carries UV protection through the body of the fabric, the waffle-eyelet texture keeps air moving, and a regular training fit stays close without gripping. A dot-matrix logo sits at the back, with illustration prints running along the inner neckline.
In Amber, Mustard and Sand, it is the collection at its most legible in daylight and its most coded after dark.
The Curve Pocket Trousers carry the only reference to a fixed lineage, vintage American cargo reworked into a curved wide-leg shape on a mid-rise fit. Where the rest of Meridian Zero looks forward, this is the piece that names where it came from, then keeps moving.
The build is closer to kit than to workwear. A 90% nylon and 10% spandex blend gives through the stride, a braided fabric belt threads through a built-in waist drawstring so the fit can be reset without stopping, and the side-leg pockets fold and cascade rather than sitting flat, each one worked from branching pleats along the front seam. Back welt pockets and a distressed finish keep the utility grounded rather than costume.
In Chocolate, they are the collection's quietest piece and its most useful, a trouser built to be lived in across a day that changes.
Closing the set is the most adaptable piece in the collection. The Totem Trail Tote is an irregular-shaped bag in lightweight translucent nylon that folds down into a backpack when the straps are reset, a circular top opening sitting over a large main compartment and a square base.
The markings return here at their oldest. A Northland snowflake sits across the front with reflective argyle stripes running alongside it, and a wooden beaded tassel finishes the strap, the one warm, handmade note in a collection otherwise built from coated and technical surfaces.
In Mint, it carries the same logic as the rest of Meridian Zero, made for someone who does not know what the day will ask of them, only that they will be moving through it.
Across its twenty-nine pieces, Meridian Zero holds ancient marking and technical surface in the same hand and refuses to choose between them.
